Information required to set up SMSF:

Personal TFN for each member

Current Address

Photo ID for each member with date of birth and address

Proposed name of SMSF

Proposed name of Corporate Trustee Company of the SMSF

Proposed name of the Bare Trustee Company – the property will be bought under this entity (only when the SMSF needs to borrow to purchase property)

Name and address of the lender – needed to set up bare trust

Address of property being bought – needed to set up bare trust

Things to be done by the members after the SMSF has been set up:

01.

Set up bank account in name of SMSF once SMSF has been established

02.

Take Company Registration, executed Trust Deed to the bank

03.

Ensure you quote the SMSF ABN and TFN to the bank

04.

Set up ESA (Electronic Service Address) to assist with rollover from old fund and employer contributions to SMSF. You may use wrkr: wrkr.com.au/smsf-compliance

05.

Annual fee of around $60 applies for ESA

06.

Contact your previous superfund in order to rollover your funds to the SMSF. You will need to provide the SMSF bank details and ESA to the previous superfund.

07.

Contact the payroll section of your employer if you want future employer contributions to be sent to your SMSF. You will need to provide SMSF bank account number and ESA to employer. Each member must do this separately.
